.

Ripples
Across an empty sea
Echoes among stars
Light years away

Out of nothing
It comes
Because it was
All day
A sound
That no one
Hears

Unseen the sun
Behind a pall
Though still in winter
I remember spring

And I need not name
That town now lost in time
To know from where

Over hills of snow
A bell rings

.

For me, the beginning and ending of
this 'penning' are particularly superb!:

"Ripples
Across an empty sea
Echoes among stars
Light years away..."

"...Over hills of snow
A bell rings"

What a fine American Zen write!

serious applause!

I like this very much, John especially the last line. Beautiful.
