Reflection’s Of The Soul
By Paul Wilson

Damn the wicked twins
of grief and doubt
Mind convulses
(shaking)
for reasons unknown

Yesterday’s clouds
leave their trail
of crimson
across my heart
Words leave the deepest
scars of all
(never completely healed)

The alter of repentance
a vision in my dreams
slightly out of focus
unable to conceive

Take me back I scream
at tomorrows clouds
before the wicked twins
awaken again
leaving me with nothing
but grief and doubt

Cover my eyes with dimes
block out the world of
visions from within
Close the lid on my
tomorrow’s
i’ll leave you with
my memory
till we meet again

Linda...We've got to have a talk about those words of praise you lay upon me. If only I was half as good as you think I am it would be great. Thanks so very much for all of your kind words. I will take them  with the hope of living up to them someday...Paul

Paul,
You wrote this well, using the clouds as your pallet.  Very much enjoyed the free flowing style of your thoughts here.

Dear Paul, I have read more than once your  profound, beautiful poem and I wanted to reply earlier, but somehow it was never the right moment. Now just let me tell you that I understand your grief and doubt, but I do hope you will find "Seelenfrieden" /peace of the soul.
Your words touch the heart and make me want to reach out with a big hug.

love
Margherita

Margherita...Your tender caring reply touches me deeply. Thanks so much for caring. No need too worry, these words are just some of my crazy ramblings. In fact sometimes I think I am crazy because of what I write about and the way I sort of live those few minutes it takes to write a poem like it is me but not me going thru the pain and suffering. I might need to get professional help.
It seems like I really don't know where alot of my poems come from, they just start out in my mind as one thought or line and I build on it from there. Funny thing is I can only write on the computer, my mind won't let me write by hand in a note book or tablet...Paul

Paul

If you are crazy then that makes two of us, what say we join hands and catch the bus for the cuckoos nest together?

Having read your reply to Margherita, I swear it could have been written by me as I also go through what you do. No wonder Van Gogh cut off his ear ! As for professional help, stick around here and save yourself some cash !!

I have cut & pasted your foot note above  because to me that sums you up perfectly, it is almost  ( and please, don’t take this the wrong way ) akin to  a cat  laying his prize captured mouse before His master to seek approval. By that I mean I feel as if you are laying your heart (& soul) on the line thereby inviting comment & hoping it will be well received, Well my friend, let me tell you this..  you have no worries on that score and persistently do an excellent job...I doff my cap to you.... keep up the good work...

Paul,
After I read your poem I glanced up above your photo to see that
you say you are from "Between Fantasy and Reality".  That just
made me enjoy reading the poem again, that much more.
It takes courage and strength to look inside one's self, truly,
at the "Reflections Of The Soul".
Great writing ! I'm keeping this!~K

John...What time does that bus run???
Thanks again for your words of praise. I feel like I am making another good friend here at PIP, not just because of what you've written or your replies to my poems, but because I feel a connection to youfor some unknown reason. My foot note really sums me up pretty good. Thanks again...Paul

Kahlil...Thanks so much for reading and your reply. Thanks for noticing that by my picture, after all aren't we all sometime caught between fantasy and reality? That's what sets us apart and keeps us going when things don't go right we can always depend on our fantasy's to give us some relief from a troubled world. That almost sounds like a good topic foa a poem. My biggest fantasy is too win the powerball lottery, help friends and family and people that don't have things most of us take for granted and the placees like St. Judes Hospital that do so much for the sick children in the world...Paul

Sorry Mate, the last bus left already, I shall dispatch my driver this very instant to collect you....

I am touched that you consider me in the way you describe, however, this is so weird but I get the self same feeling/vibe when connecting with you, want to go halfy halfy on the powerball??

Take care

John
