    That the hand should question her perennial labor,
or the tongue cleave unto the palace roof;
    the salt be found wanting of its customary savor:
Blame it on the flippancy of youth.
    
    If I, with my pen, should stumble over broken lines,
in the darkness stutter enviable truth;
    imbue my suffering in the most passionless of rhymes,
Blame it on the flippancy of youth!
