This is a terrible dichotomy
That I find myself in
For no matter which route I choose to take
There is no way I can win

Is it any wonder
I can't make up my mind
When the only decision to be made
Is in fact two of a kind ?

We've all been in this quandary.
There is no way to choose.
Sometimes I simply flip a coin
Or wear unmatching shoes.

A quandary, to be sure! A situation I too, have often found myself in.

Cute write, John! Let your intuition be your guide!

Warm, compassionate hug ~ and a smile,

You penned this situation well, John! If the topic allows it ... we can always give it a try and decide definitively in a while ...

I remember making lists of pro and contra ... but in the end, as Linda says, the heart knows best.

Very good.
Make your decision in LA

I can understand the problem but just thinking and wondering whether we really do need to always win.  Sometimes the loser is in fact the victor but it does of course depend on the circumstances.  Good luck with the decision making!

Passing Shadows, glad you can relate & I am not on my own !

Joyce & ctowen, wonderful, a poetic riposte, now you got me going because…

When the option was the best of 3
And the double headed coin was tossed
It came as no surprise to me
That once again I lost !

Linda, I usually always follow my intuition, unless of course there is another option…..? (*smile) thanks for the hug and encouragement ~

Margherita, Thanks and once again you are right & your wisdom shines through in your comments,

JamesMicheal, You are so right my friend, hope you are still keeping the fire of love burning brightly in the islands,

Honeybunch, no we do not always need to win, sometimes it is good to lose to appreciate the taste of success, as I always tell my Daughter, it is more important to take part, whilst it is good to win, failure is not a bad thing either as long as you did your best…..

Tomtoo, thank you my friend, LA in May? Yes, I will be there, perhaps we will run into each other…..

Kahil,  Now I’m in trouble, I have to choose a bubble?

Simon,

I have no idea what the choice is, as is so often the case, these ideas / words etc just force their way into my head & I write them down and try to make something of them. This was one of the results. Whilst a lot of my writing is based on events that affected me, sometimes they have no bearing on me in any way at all. I have very often had comments where the reader thinks I am talking from personal experience. Sometimes I write from an observers point of view but the way I put that across can be interpreted as if it had / was happening to me. I liken it to a crime author that writes a best seller about murder etc, you do not have to be a serial killer to write a story about one, if that makes sense?

Thank you all once again for your kind replys, I so love this board…

Cheers

Just found this today and thought of you:

quote:
When you cannot make up your mind which of two evenly balanced courses of action you should take - choose the bolder."

William Joseph Slim, 1891-1970

Let's be bold!!

I am touched that you thought of me when you came across this gem, "Lets be bold " were it not for the medication, I'd drink to that ! Thank you so much....

Alison

Glad you like it & I'm with you on the mismatched shoes, in fact in an effort to be bold, I am going to the hospital today in unmatching socks. Then should the procedure hurt, I can look at my feet and think of Joyce , Margherita and all my new friends on here and I'm sure the smile that lights my face will take away the pain ...

Cheers

John

John~
Coins in a flip
may cause your intuition to slip
How's about just choosing them all
then there is no guessing
and you just might have a ball~

Good wheeling on your hospital visit~
Keeping you in thought~

Neat title, effjayel.

It almost sounds like a Catch 22 to me...
Good luck...

How prophetic and so right, doing nothing is not an option, but I will try & stay away from the centre of the road.  ( I remember what happened to the Road Runner ! )  Thanks for your reply, take care & don't forget to call your Daughter..

Miscellanea

Thank you, little did I know when I wrote it how much of a catch 22 it would turn out to be, it was only meant to be a tongue in cheek throw away piece. Life can have a habit of sneaking up on you & biting your backside when you least expect it….
