When the hard becomes the easy
mind has reached the pinnacle
of what it understands
and the coming down no hardship
for the height once reached and known
a treasure unsurpassed
by the pettiness of life.

And when the need to breathe and breathe
no longer satisfies a woman’s need
there’s a knowing that the love inside
has risen up beyond the known
into the confines of a soul.

But soul and mind both intertwined
yet do leave the flesh behind
and think tomorrow maybe soon
death facilitates amends
and makes the love again.

But look to air where still the means
lies waiting to implant the dream
and call it in with true intent
to know that what is now not known
can’t blossom forth next time around.

I want to plant my seedlings now
because I want what grows next time
but there’s no need to panic, fret
when mind has reached the pinnacle
and love is in the soul ~
and yet I cry like babies do
when needing you to know, believe,
love can’t and won’t survive
if you don’t give it life!

Thanks Marge and Cendrine.  Your comments are much appreciated.

It is a great privilege to give life even if it is just to a smile.

I think this is a magnificent poem from beginning to end. Truly amazing philosophical ponderings, dear Helen!

Honey, your marvelous philosophical mind has reached another pinnacle!

I appreciate the wisdom in your closing lines.

"love can’t and won’t survive
if you don’t give it life!"

Love to you my SA friend!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments - much appreciated.  Strange how it happens though that just when one thinks one has reached the pinnacle there's another and another and isn't that just a wonderful testimony to life and all that can be discovered?
