         The Clock of Life

Clocks were invented centuries ago
Almost from the beginning of time,
They come in every shape and size
And most of the large ones chime.

One of the most famous clocks on earth
Is Big Ben on the London Tower,
It keeps an eye on all those passing by
And Chimes loudly on every hour.

The Cucko clock is a favourite with most
Especially loved by the small
A little bird pops out to tell you the time
From its usual place on the lounge room wall.

Wrist watches are now worn by so many
A plain statement that most will attest
My gramps wore a pocket watch with pride
On a chain that hung from his vest

A reliable timepiece is a much treasured thing
It will help give you freedom from strife
But the most important clock of them all
Is indeed the clock of your life.

For the clock of your life is wound but once
And certainly no one has the power,
To tell just when the hands will stop,
Whether it be late or early hour.

So make the most of your life every day,
Live, love and toil with a will,
But tomorrow do not count upon,
For the clock , may then be still.

LindsayP,

This is well written, and very much together.  It's kind of a form of it's own.

My clock wound up slowly at the beginning of my life ~ but now that I am in the latter of of it ~ its winding down far too fast!!!

"So make the most of your life every day,
Live, love and toil with a will,
But tomorrow do not count upon,
For the clock , may then be still."

May your clock be powered by the Energizer Bunny and keep on ticking, and ticking, and ticking...!

Loving hug,
Linda

Words of wisdom as usual.  I will do my best to make the most of my clock.
