A Hush Has Fallen
by Linda L. Dowd

The luminescent moon crowns the tops of snowy trees,
and all is calm and quiet in the mid of winter freeze.
An owl's hoot, rings crystal-clear thru' the still of night,
as landscape shimmers in the rays of Luna’s diamond light.

A hush has fallen o’er our town that lies safely sleeping,
for angels guard and watch o’er us in protective keeping.
Spirit lights are twinkling in deep skies of indigo,
and tranquility surrounds the town in a loving glow.

Harmony and bliss prevail in each and every home,
It's all for one and one for all. ~ Nobody stands alone.
There is a soothing cadence to the rhythm of our town.
~It wakes with each rising sun and sleeps when sun goes down.

The luminescent moon crowns the tops of snowy trees.
and all is calm and quiet in the mid of winter freeze.
An owl's hoot, rings crystal-clear thru' the still of night,
as landscape shimmers in the rays of Luna’s diamond light.

Earth Angel,

This sounds like my street here in the city.  Without the trees of course.

A lap dance?!? ~ I'm so sorry! I gave up doing lap dances when I was apprenticing to become an 'angel'. However, my halo slips once in awhile so I might consider giving you a little, teensy, weensy one.

But please keep it "hush" and don't tell anybody.

Hi, Marti! So nice of you to drop by and to leave that lovely, poetic reply!

If my words lifted your spirits, I am pleased ~ however, I would prefer it if your spirits were not in the need of lifting, my dear friend.

Keep in touch!

Sending a big hug-o-love your way!

a fine ‘write!’…

I am especially fond of the beginning lines:

“The luminescent moon crowns the tops of snowy trees,
and all is calm and quiet in the mid of winter freeze.
An owl's hoot, rings crystal-clear thru' the still of night…”

and, the fine imagery of:

twinkling ‘spirit lights;’

the ‘rhythmic cadence’ of a small town;

nighttime's ‘diamond (lit)’ shimmering landscape;

much applause!!

Dear Linda, your poem is lovely as usual.

"Harmony and bliss prevail in each and every home,
It's all for one and one for all. ~ Nobody stands alone."

I find myself wondering what that would be like because I seem not to have ever seen it.  Anyway, from your words to the world!
