Felix is tied up
in the back seat
of some creep’s
car.

He doesn’t feel like
hanging around
for all the fun.

He has a safety razor
hid in his shoe,
for just such an
occasion.

He cuts the rope
holding his scrawny neck
to the head rest post.

He sits there and waits.

The car stops
for a red light
at Second and Market.

The streets crowded,
Felix dives out the door.

There’s nothing
the creep can do.

Felix laughs,
and flips him
the middle finger.

The rope is still
hanging
from his neck.

He twirls it like
it belongs there.

No one notices
a thing.

Bobby

Roniece,

Yes, I'm happy about that too, and so is Felix.

It's a rough neighborhood here, and always will be.

Thanks for your comments, and your kind concern.

John,

Thanks a lot for that.  It means a great deal, coming from you.  The book should come out by the end of the year.

Tom,

Thanks for the kind words.  Felix is smart, and gets smarter every day.  Challenge is always a good thing.

Ah, if true life were only that simple.

BTW, this was inspired by finding some safty razors lying on the sidewalk while walking the dog here in the hood this morning.

Someone thinking to cut on someone.  Deep, wide, and often.

Passing shadows,

Yes, Felix is well educated.  He graduated from Port Richmond U, right here on the streets of the hood.

That should indeed prove to be a most interesting book!

[I've lived in your city (on the short-term) and
others (I was once engaged to a girl from S.
Philly); Ms. ArtSolstice, I believe...(and other
long-term city folk) most likely clearly relate to
  and appreciate your 'writes!']

once again, serious applause for this 'penning!'

Secondhanddreampoet,

Thanks, I hope it will be.  It will be kind of a little brother to my book "Muck".

I'm pleased you are enjoying the series, and of course thanks for your support.

Talking about education, there are two PhD's that came out of my block in this poor white ghetto, my youngest boy is one of them.

Artic Wind,

Thanks for the kind words.  I'm very pleased you are enjoying the series.

Secondhanddreampoet,

Hey, that makes you a Philly person too then.  I'm sure you enjoyed your stay here.  It's a wonderful city.
