  Seymour Entitled

I wondered beyond the wall
of the shadows gardens
if there is a world
in shades of green
waiting for the best of me
to capture that bit of love
that still lives
within the dragon
of me.

In the mire of retire
I kissed her in a phantom's walk,
zany words and moments of you, my love,
painting a child's past
with shades of metaphor.

A pebble in my shoe
reminds me of my daughters,
of their dancing in the dark,
under the tree of dreams.
From where I stand,  I've set my eyes to then,
when time stands still and a length of a sigh
pulls me through the air
to float my emotions into yesterday
knowing it's the little things,
that smile me a treasure...

that in the arms of dream,
I have you in the dance of marriage,
that you are my daily soup, the bubbling stream
that keeps me from floundering,
always stretching and questioning
to reach my poetic wake.

I touch a hand,
and hear sweet melodies each night
and in this world of time
know the powers of possibility,
the wings of the mind
and take flight
to sail the rainbow's end.

Maureen, this is brilliant! You have done a fantastic job of weaving the titles of Seymour's poems into a marvelous poetic tapestry!!! ~ which is most assuredly, a

btw, that is one clever title, as well!

Love to you both!

Wonderful, dear Maureen, it almost felt like listening to his voice though I have never had the pleasure to hear it, but it definitely conveyed his ESSENCE.

Perfect to unite us while remembering beloved Seymour.

Thank you for sharing this again in this  special moment of sadness.

love

Thank you for your responses...

I wrote this for Sy while he wasn't feeling well. Hoping it would cheer him up. His titles expressed his love for his family and life. I was hoping to show that.

This was Part 2 of his titles:

More Titled Sighs

The test is ours
to touch a butterfly of happiness,
to lift every rock with velvet glove
and pace the footsteps of the true path
on our journey of dreams.

The eye of I,
still sees the ocean of thought
through the creation of the mind
within the valley of acceptance.

And even when hobbling
(with sand in my shoes)
I look back, fixed on the phasing of change.

Each touch of life, like walking in the rain,
the mist  of once upon, a mark of time,
a show of love to silence the dieing embers
and leave me to picture...
an evening's dream.

Nice of you to put something together for Sy, I just heard of his passing and hope that he did not suffer. This forum will miss him greatly but he will not be forgotten as we move forward..

This 'write' deserves to return to, and hang around longer, near the to of the 'P.I.P.-land' queue!

I am particularly fond of:

"I touch a hand,
and hear sweet melodies each night
and in this world of time
know the powers of possibility,
the wings of the mind
and take flight
to sail the rainbow's end(!)"

MAJOR Applause for both Sy and Ms. M.!!

i unfortuantely have not been able to read all of Seymour's more recent poems, but what it has brought out in you in this poem is very sweet and gentle...as i have always found you.

And i always have the pleasure finding you in moments of your poetic dreaming"s"
