The night retreated
the drowning grey
a curtain call to morning

she yearns to curtsie
but is crippled
with a broken bough

the storm had left her sightless,
struck by love and nightingales
that cease to sing
much longer than
a sundown's song,

no place for her
to soothe
her self

her april treasures
now lost in leafprint,
as they'd abondonned
on the sycamore
several storms ago

You never fail to bring emotions with your wonderful, profound poetry. Enjoyed this melancholic tune of your heart greatly, dear Michele.

Dear Goddess, you surely pen your whisper-soft poetry with a quill.

what a wonderful write! We are having powerful winds this AM, with boughs that will no doubt snarl and snap before this day is over.
Mish, your poem sings as sweetly as a nightingale.

mmmm...the significance of the storms do color what is to come...ancient spirits in the trees often seem abandon to the wind and rain.  Wow...you really know how to paint the visuals there gal!
Felt the chill of this.

Wow...
I love this, Michele...
all of it... simply beautiful...

I had forgotten how much I enjoy reading you...
I need to do it more often...

Beautiful, Michele.  The sycamore's plight brought tears to my eyes.  Thank you for loving her so.

I so understand the longing and emotion.
