Dear Sy,

For having known you, I am better than I was.
I am more of a woman, more of a child, more of a dreamer, more of a poet
more sensitive to the power of a fragile phrase, to the cutting edge of subtle truth.

For having known you, I am more ingenuous, more humble, more attuned to the sound of my heartbeat and to the serenity of my spirit. My words flow from more profound springs and trip more lightly over aging stones. My ink is more opaque,  my thoughts more indelible on these blue pages of poetry

You have been like a moonbeam that settles on the crest of our waters, lingering there, and dancing playfully, like an aesthetic lover, bringing splendor and beauty to the night. You have been the sun of our morning, opening the day with truth and beauty, with wisdom and humor.

Only in heaven will we look into your eyes on an equal plane, without dimension or measure, without regard to the height of your pedestal.
Wait for me then, dear friend. by the gate. For I look forward to seeing you again. Until then, I am at peace in the warmth of your friendship, and content in the realization that I am so much better than I was

for having known you

With love and a warm PIP embrace
Liz

This is a sensitive and powerful tribute to our dear Sy. I have a hard lump in my throat where the tears are caught. We will all mourn together...

I agree with with your elegant words. I have shared many of Sy's poems with family and friends and I will continue to do so. I for one will never forget Sy.

Thanks,
Melton

Seymour is an amazing gift. He touched so many of us, from all walks of life, and left us better people, simply by being Seymour.

thank you, Liz

Liz, I have literally been moved to tears by your words. Yes, Seymour has touched so many lives and fortunate were they, who knew him in person ~ like yourself.

"You have been the sun of our morning, opening the day with truth and beauty, with wisdom and humor."

~ Indeed he was! And it is in the morning, when I log into PiP and do not see a post by him, that I miss him the most.

You have a loving heart and a graceful pen, dear Liz.

Love & Eternal Light,
Linda

Lady Santos...

On the day you wrote this, it was hard for me to respond, because that was the day I lost my mother by love. Only a few short weeks later, I lost an uncle as well.

I've finally gathered my wits around me enough to say...thank you for the tenderness of your words, for the loving thoughts that those of us who knew Sy, even if only through the blue halls, and for memorializing him in such a beautiful way.

I've kept many of his daily poems...several of them so very favorite to me in my heart.

I'm so glad we knew him, of his life and of Isabel, and of the love he had for his family.

Ron brought us all together in some far-fetched netherworld of communication...

if only our governments could see what we see. I think Sy would have liked that.
