I wrote this a lonnnng time ago, as a tribute to the beautiful way that seymour saw the world. He will always live on in my heart--and I will never stop trying to be more like him. He always chose to see the best in everyone, and I pray that I can learn from him graciousness, humility, and generousity. So this one is still for you, sy.

* * *

I need a quick vacation--
comforting as fresh baked bread.
A pillow of soft place to land
inside of seymour's head.

There, the world is magical.
Butterflies fly free.
There I do not have to fight
to find serenity.

Gentle, as a whispered wind.
A warm hug from a long lost friend.
Coffee, steaming in the cold,
Within dark cave, a glint of gold.

I wish that I could wander here,
to view the world as through his eyes.
It's cozy as a Hobbit's home--
inside of seymour's mind.

You've surely succeeded to see the world through Sy's eyes. What wonderful words you've penned down. I can see him smiling at you right now.

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

Absolutely Sy, Ser.  Oh how he will be missed here!  But you are right, he has left lasting impressions on all of us.   .....jojo

I know what you mean, and you gave us a lovely glimpse of the world inside his precious, poet's head.

Oh K, reading Sy was much like cuddling up near a cozy fireplace with a Hobbit story in one hand and a mug of hot cocoa in the other.
Thanks for sharing 'your Sy' with us.

Beautiful!  Actually no one had to fight to find serenity in his words, they were just there.

I'm sure we'd all be a bit better if we were to look at the world the way our dear Sy did. A lovely tribute...

Isn't it wonderful that Seymour makes us all softly smile in remembering him?
I think so ...~

Karen,
Nice indeed. I guess we'll settle now for reading his poetry. Thanks for sharing this.

This is 'him', Karen...
and it's beautiful...

I'm sorry I missed this before,
but I'm glad I found it tonight...

Sy is truly missed...

y'know, honey...
I've been doing some looking back...

and Sy didn't always have to rhyme his
poetry, nor mind his similes, or smile his
metaphors...they just kinda took place within
this thoughts, and he never allowed us to critique his genius...

he just allowed that we were
what we are.

and when he adored us, over one or another write

he left a simple message of approval.

Your poem [yes, I noted it before, but I'm here to 'splain']

acknowledges exactly what Seymour Tabin did for Passion in Poetry....

he let the world explore...

and he exemplified Ron's quest.

Thank you, again, for honoring him in such a heartfelt way.
