The Sea Swallows

Drawn to be nearer
Casting forth the muddle of the mind
My heart weeps
Into the surf of relentlessness
Listening for wisdom
To cascade away my shell
Exposing the pearl
Back and forth the rocking of souls
Let me cry
Knowing this embrace of tides
Pandering of misalignment
Until the will comes to center
Drawn to these waters
The sound of waves replay
Release me to nowhere
Release me…
…Re-lease me
When the sea swallows
Left empty and willing
I stand, excavate the sand
And leave my wildflower marker

it felt as if I was standing there with you, so extremely vivid and intense!

An invocation born in the heart.

It speaks of confusion, frustration,  a
desire to reach a middle point....
to find something that eludes...

The sea, the waves, the cascading of waters
all a part of the mood and desires of the
writer or character being portrayed...

I'm probably only about half close on this
one.....

This poem digs very deep into the soul of the
writer...

Kathleen - Love the depth of your poem and can relate especially to these lines

"My heart weeps
Into the surf of relentlessness
Listening for wisdom"

I like to believe that if we listen we do hear.

she gives
then sweeps up
the very shells
her waves brought to her wiating sands
she means no harm
she is just the sea doing
