I always did wonder of your evenings
when you put your mind there
in that other room of seclusion
by the window that looks away

when you picked a book's whispers
and let them wear your skin
as you would pretend behind your eyes
that you were the gypsy's pen

sometimes I was gravel outside
dragging my own feet for noise
so you would press to the glass
and bosom my eyes with searching

as you listened to the winds song
and the rustling of my leavery
wondering of a handsome prince
or perhaps even a wicked king

not knowing we were all in the shadows

This reads like a wonderful story - or a picture that is just out of reach but can be seen ... or like words that flow into a song.

Ok... one more fix before sleep. You have magic in you, Dark. Thank you for letting it out to breathe all that beautiful over us.

P.S. - no one can accuse me of not inhaling  - no no no - I mean the beautiful!

I guess I would have to agree that the last stanza packs a wallop.

Yes, it's a good thing when
today's topics of the archives
reach back to the present...

for a present it is.

I like this very much:

quote:
when you picked a book's whispers
and let them wear your skin
as you would pretend behind your eyes
that you were the gypsy's pen

I like it...because I know.
