In The Mind’s Embrace That powerful first moment Shook loose good sense with bliss The one that turned by destiny One path I had dismissed That tap upon my shoulder The one that turned my head Let over ride my higher mind And led to love instead That unlocked every secret That open hearted pour So self assured and fancy free In quantum leap of faith Du jur Still fresh within my memory As if just yesterday That powerful first moment My mind embraced this way Exceptions always balance The beauty of such things Intrinsic placement of the soul The loyalty love brings The way I saw myself then The way that I see you That powerful first moment Still ticks as if brand new The feeling and the flutter As if your home were here Expecting you, just overdue That feeling still quite clear Perhaps the place I hold to Perhaps what holds your place An unrelenting knowledge Anticipations face That powerful first moment A story told through time When I was new and came to you In hope you would be mine Copyright kkh 1/21/08 |
