paths and passages

we walk too many
  paths
to gaze at the one
  bright moon…
determined
and helpless
as a rose in the
  wind…
until we are lost
to the endless
weight of Time.

Secondhanddreampoet,

You've been into the moon again haven't you.

I remember looking at the moon in your mountains, while standing in the cupola of the Crestmont Inn with a pretty girl.  She was a waitress, a fellow worker.  Those were the days, happy days.

What a sight.

I loved that bit. Short, but powerful. I can't even find the right words at the moment to explain why I liked it.

sure would be easier to have a map huh?

I myself am a seasoned traveller but I'm older now and my feet hurt so I think I'll just sit right here to gaze at the moon should it happen to peek out

loved the poem!

This perfect write is clear as a bell in the distance on a dark, cold night. It reminds me of Chatwin’s “Songlines”, a travelogue proposing that we are intrinsically nomads, walkers, travelers, who settled into an existence contrary to our natures.

Thank you for posting this most beautiful work.
