       Timeless Gifts

Beyond the flaming sunset
mid twilight’s fleeting shadows,
here…where empty-Winter clouds
traverse an endless sky,
to nestle for just a moment
mid these barren, time-faded
  hills…
emptiness and transience
are neglected treasures.

I think you can find treasure anywhere, Poet.

Secondhanddreampoet,

I too like the last two lines.  There is a lot of truth there in those last two lines.

I agree with Bobby, Poet. Those last two lines hold a truth about embracing impermanence, mutability.

Buddha, Tao De Jing, Zhuangzi, the Mulamadhyamakakarika, even Hesse’s Narcissus and Goldmund, the pre-Socratics, especially Heraclitus, the Odyssey, Aeneid…  Alan Watts… they all knew it.

A Persian king asked his wise men to create a statement that would be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him the words, "And this, too, shall pass away."

Your poem is beautifully written.

Have you been peeking at my view - this is beautiful.  And, like the others, I found the last two lines to be incredible.
