The Forbidden Fruit

Across sunny lands grew a special tree,
Where the forbidden, red apple grows.
Adam and Eve didn’t really believe,
In wearing those things called clothes.

The sun shone down on the big green tree,
That was full of the  red, apple fruit.
When Eve picked one --an earthquake had begun,
And a snake coiled up from the root.

As they sat beneath the Eden tree,
The evil serpent started to say,
“Eat the fruit of the forbidden tree.
--Go ahead. It’s really okay.”

As Eve gave Adam a bite of the apple,
Ominous clouds then covered the sky.
A voice came booming down from the heavens
“Your betrayal makes your Father cry.”

Adam and Eve felt naked and bare
So they covered their loins in fig leaves.
They knew they’d done wrong by taking the apple,
And would never again be thieves.

Ah, it's nice to see you again, Arctic Wind!

I appreciate your thoughts, but being a woman I am not sure if under those circumstances I would have acted differently! ... how to resist those wonderful red apples??!!

Thanks to God we still carry within the beauty of Eden and we experience the longing of it!

You did a nice job!

love
