I Let You Go

A Beautiful Disaster

Your present life is taken by your past,
And mine - by my imaginary future.
It is our mutual loss,
Our parallel ways have crossed,
I drink this wine of pain: for you, for us - for both.

Life left us no chance to say goodbye -
I won't see indifference to my sorrow.
Who knew it was our final time -
That kiss, that floor, my drunken mind.
My heart still keeps returning to that Thursday,
Those streets at night.

But you can't turn the damaged to ruins,
Can't break my love-wrecked heart.
I'll spread my wings.
And now - forgive - I cannot say a thing,
I've drunk an empty glass of disillusion.
And no words can paint my grief profusion.
I... No, I can't speak. I think you know.
Your days now call you back - I let you go.
