Its 3 AM I'm wide awake
Wemt to bed at 11 PM
Feeling tired
I though I was ready for sleep
Laid my head upon my pillow
The room was silent
But not my head
I found myself wide awake
I tossed and turned for a little while
Hoping sleep would come
Seeing this was futile thing
I told myself
You might as well get out of bed
So I went to the kitchen
Put the dishes in the dishwasher away
Filled it with the dirty ones
Washed them too.
Deceided that I would make some stew.
Our confused little dog didn't know
What to do.
So he wrestled with the cats a little while
Then he looked at me as if to say
If your not going to bed
I will
So he found a warm place to sleep
I am glad you can sleep I said
I still don't feel like going to bed
So I cleaned off my desk
Put all the old mail in the trash
Still I didn't feel like I could crash
So I turned on the computer
Went to Piptalk
Thinking if I read some poems
I would relax
No such luck
I was still wide awake
So I said to myself
I'll write a poem
Maybe there's something on my mind
That's keeping me awake
As you can see
There was nothing there
Because I wrote this crazy poem
Now I'm starting to get weary
I'm yawning
I'm looking at the clock
It's almost four
I'm going back to bed
Yawning Yawning
On my way,
Good night my friends
I got to get some zzz's
.......zzzzz.....zzzzzz.....zzzz

Sorry to be laughing at your state of discomfiture, but I can't help myself! I, too, have had nights like that! ~ Almost to the very "T". Like yourself, I find that I might as well get some things done instead of wasting my time staring at the ceiling ~ and the clock!

You made good use of your time! You got some chores done and ended up with a terrific reality write, to boot!

May you sleep well, this night!

Sweet dreams!

Thanks for the comments, guess I am not the only one who has this problem once in a while. I have found that most of the time it is not any use fighting the Wake Awake Blues better to get up and do something.
