Walking on Bamboo

During a walk in the bamboo forest I
see bamboo's of every size and dimension
all coexisting and finding their place
in an age old race to see who can be
the biggest bamboo in the forest.
No thats not it at all, for in the
world of bamboo not a one cares if
its big or small, bamboo only strives
to live as long as it can, sucking
the moisture and nutrients from the
benevolent piece of earth it has
been allowed to inhabit and reaching
its strong trunk and graceful leaves
towards a life sustaining sky, the
only goal it knows...to live its life
to the fullest, and then to peacefully
go back to the earth that in its life
caressed it and in its death embraces it.

"Where does bamboo go when it dies?
Back to the earth, to the earth."
Walking on bamboo...

James,

This is excellent work.

That's the way it is with people too.  They're just too silly to realize it.

This is a knockout title.  You have a way with them, and I envy you for it.  I like the tone of the poem, too.

Oh, just what happens to us, if we are
romantic enough to see it like this.

Very beautiful, dear James.

This is a very good poetic statement.

This, however, is genius:

"... for in the
world of bamboo not a one cares if
its big or small, bamboo only strives
to live as long as it can,.."

Well done.
