like some cheap toy,

It went flowing,
down the river,
of regrets,

out into the sea,
an ocean of lost,
loves forgotten,

adrift, floating,
dried up from sun,
slowly decaying,

      

until it drifts,
back upon shore,
upon the sand,

a lonely heart,
comes walking by,
picks it up,

takes me home,
put on display,
as an art,

beautiful to admire,
unusually unique,
driftwood heart.
