Sally and Felix oft times
sit and wonder,

“Why do people hate us?”

They can’t quite figure it out,
but they know for sure,
people do hate them.

It’s a complete mystery to them.

Perhaps it’s because
they hold a mirror up
to society’s face.

What’s reflected there
isn’t always very pretty.

Simon,

Thank you for the kindest words.

I strive to keep my writing pithy, but adequate.

always Love your story.

"Perhaps it’s because
they hold a mirror up
to society’s face."

Nobody want to know how ugly we are!
very profound. Has the novel been written yet?

Tomtoo,

Thanks for the kind word.

Funny you should ask about the novel.  I’ve been organizing all day today.  So far I have 83 pages together so far.

Yo James,

Been there, the stones have been thrown, in a good natured manner of course.

Midnitesun,

Thanks for commenting.  Yes, I’m afraid so.  I have faith in the future though.  Folks like Sally and Felix will see us through.  They're kind and tough.  It's a good combination.

Too bad chapters of the "Sally and Felix" tale get 'erased' from this "Open" forum!

Roniece Dawson-Bruce,

There are some of that do care about Sally and Felix.

We get more in return than we could ever give.

I'll let them know you care about them.

Bruce,

One of them was moved to Insights, and the rest are still here somewhere.

Thanks for the kind words.  Sally and Felix say hello.

I came here to reply to the Felix poem I can no longer find here. It took me a while to come back, because when I first read it, Bobby, I had to just go away for a while with tears in my eyes and think about it and a lot of other stuff. Then I thought I couldn't find it because I wasn't looking in the right place. Then I thought I'd imagined it, that you had posted another write about Felix that I was turning around in my head for a few days. That was one powerful write. I like this one too. Thank you for continuing to tell the story.

It's always because someone has to exercise the fake power on the weaker ones, it is so extremely sad and discomforting. We fight worldwide for children's rights, but when it comes to practice the law of love right there in our own comfortable lives, people are unprepared and "want to wash their hands" to not feel guilty.

So sad.

Your writes are always emotionally involving.

ArtSolstice,

The poem that you are talking about may be “Felix Gets Beat”.  It has been moved to “Insights” by the administration of this forum.  You can find it there.

I’m glad “Felix Gets Beat” got to you, and I’m happy that you enjoyed this one.

Margherita,

The phenomena that you are talking about are called “social hypocrisy”.  It’s one of the oldest tools in the grab-bag.  Thanks for the kind words, and for your support of the Sally and Felixes of our world.

People should never look down upon others no matter what their social class. ----- Your writing has a captivating effect.  I don`t think that I will ever forget `Paregoric`, the episode about the grandmother and the boy.
