It is Winter
My watch band is broken
and I need to get more cigarettes.
Yesterday morning
blueberry pancakes would have been good.
Bluebirds are pretty
...or plain, with butter and honey.
Connie Francis didnt have
a mole like Anne
My sister liked Honey West
Wild Wild West was good
I should get some batteries
and a watch band
I liked John Cameron Swayze's voice
Road House was a good movie
Sam Elliot died
The Untouchables was a good show
Haystack Calhoun was a big guy
Haystacks are fun
Mr. Greenjeans seemed like a nice fellow
Although, I was a bit disturbed
when I found out his real name
Not sure why
Something to do with
"Lumpy" and "jeans" perhaps
I don't like instant mashed potatoes
but I will eat them
I should make a sandwich
Not smoking makes me hungry
I will throw some bread to the birds
It is Winter
***

No That was not a very good poem

Here is one that I wrote yesterday
when I walked to the store.
I should have gotten pancake mix
and more cigarettes.
Oh well

On a guardrail...
I start pondering...
so, I push myself up the hill
My mind is still
when I'm wandering.
My mind wanders
when I'm still.
I can't escape the damage done.
But, I'll tell you...
for what it's worth...
There are no names to name
No body to blame
I'm just trying
to get over
my birth.

Yes It's short
The guardrail was cold.
It is Winter

It is indeed winter, and I think
you have cabin fever...

nevertheless, it is good to see you here!

I like it a lot

My mind wandered right along with yours
and it all made sense.

This is the first thing that I read on this site & I love it! i don't want to read poetry that is measured & scientific, I want to gain an insight into someone's real thoughts & feelings & this is what this gives.....

A very efficient way to say how unsuccessful our attempts to understand the big WHY sometimes appears to be.

A floating mind may suddenly hit upon some great answers ... you never know.

A fun ride!

I liked this. It was different and it held my attention to see what the next line would be. I'm not poet enough to write something that good so I have to rely on the talent of a poet like you.

Thanks for brightening my winter's day.

I love your disjointed, wandering poem.  Joyce
