Have you ever been
To the jungle
Where
The lion’s den awaits

I’ve been there once
It’s scary there
What
A vision the mind creates

A vast safari
Beholden to none
The
King there and his land

The sun soaked grass
And clear blue sky
A
Sight to see firsthand

A sunny day
I last recall
It
Was bright up in the sky

It sat there waiting
A growl I heard
The
Day was hot and dry

I started to run
As fast as I could
My
Thoughts were racing fast

The lion waiting
In the brush
Knew
This fight wouldn’t last

I weaved and bobbed
Breathing hard
My
Body was giving way

A few more steps
No more could I take
All
Was turning grey

I woke up in a sweat
My body shaking hard
From
The terror I felt inside

That lion my demon
The fear so real
Alone
I laid and cried

With no one beside me
To love and to hold
Aware
Of my surrounding doom

The darkest parts of my life
Dwell deep inside
Cloudy
Days are coming soon

Better to die, and sleep
The never-waking sleep, than linger on
And dare to live when the souls life is gone.

Well, you know what Roosevelt said, "We've nothing to fear but fear itself" but fear can be pretty darn scary. Hang in there.
