So They Say

There's an empty that is felt
although a numbness more than not.
Survival just a mode of life
a mystery in its plot.

Never knowing, never seeking
the corner round, its bend.
There it is, all the same
a state of mind to end.

What's the use, I've said before
too many times to count.
Reasons always "so they say"
but pain just seems to mount.

There must be waiting, angel's wings
to take me somewhere's want.
Relieving of the masks in need
protecting from the taunt.

Ups and downs and turn arounds,
a life that's given me.
Too many of the more of not
than tearful eyes need see.

M

You really move me to tears, dear Maureen, with this melancholic poem.
You write so beautifully.
Wishing you sunshine to warm your heart!
Love and hugs.

I believe this powerfully emotive 'write' aptly describes
the state of existence that far too many of us have ended
up in 'mid this "Runaway American Dream"...

Applause!

Awwww, I wish there was something I could do for you. I've been worried about you.
