Thoughts at your wedding, son

I smile at the young man
you have become
and watch you
standing there
proudly beside your bride
holding hands
as you once held mine

How quickly you matured
replacing toys
with cars and girls
casting aside childhood
like worn out clothes

I wonder
when the years past -
how you grew
from infant to man
now creating your own family -

leaving
crinkled memories
on yellowed construction paper
boxed in the attic

What can I say, my baby wed his bride on 12-29-07 and I'm feeling a bit nostalgic

I am nothing special...and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me,this has always been enough.~N.S

What a wonderful poem.  I wish your son the best and thank you for sharing a piece of this special day with us - and for sharing your heart.

This winter I will have two who are 20.  Neither are amrried yet.  I am amazed at how fast they grow.  I chuckled about the treasures we mothers keep.  I have a bunch.

Oh Ruth, wish I could see the picture - guess they won't let you share from Kodak.  Try loading it to Photobucket.com   Congratulations - it is been a long road m'friend to the alter.   Before I forget, Happy Birthday!

Dear Ruth, this is so poignant! Every mother's heart has mixed feelings on that day I guess, joy and a sort of creeping melancholy.
Your son and his wife are beautiful, they shine their love intensely!

And Happy Birthday to you too!

Thank you for sharing your touching words.

Love,
Margherita

Mysteria,
Thanks for letting me know you couldn't view the image...it came up on my computer. I took your advice and went to photobucket and posted a different picture there. Also the link in the comment below yours will take you to the first picture I posted so you get two for the price of one
Thank you all for your comments, it was a beautiful wedding
Ruth
