Where no tyranny is tolerable

Empty days filled with nothing.
Anticipating nothing but the busy work they will give me,
busy work I have very little interest in.
No plans; no academic freedom.
No new books to read,
just the same ones over and over.
Sleeping and eating and sleeping.
Stewing in these dreadful juices
as weeks and months pass.
Church is a little better,
but: what am I doing? ...
There is no news.
How could I seem anything but a social bore?
Surely that girl in the office,
the one who's making
increasingly forward and overt advances to me,
will tire and find something else to do at work eventually,
like everybody else does.
The heaviness, the feeling of clumsy awkwardness,
And the salty, brackish tears that still well up
suddenly, and for no apparent reason ...
I want to be happy ...

Dear Jaime, this hurts. May you feel loved, God's love knows no interruption, there are no empty days for Him.
And the problem with the books should be solvable ... there is surely somebody who will help you get some books, maybe from the library?
Enjoy the signs of love you receive from that girl, I am sure she is sincere!
May the New Year unfold beautifully for you, dear Jaime! Trust!

Love and joy!

I can relate to with what you are saying and as with me the lovely Margherita
has said life can bring hard tidings on all of us and these things will not last for ever believe in god god will listen to any thing you have to say to him he does not get embarist and he does not pass judgment on the choices that he allows you to make

how ever if you do not believe in god then at least believe in your self it is surprising what you can do with a little bit of faith and a but of courage

i hope that this year you will find the happiness that you seek and that you will find some one that will love you as much as god does

Jaime,

It's funny how you may be heard when you think no one is listening.

Oh, amigo, it seems the winter blues have captured you! It's common after the holidays, when suddenly, we find ourselves back in ordinary day-to-day mode, minus all the anticipation and feasting.
Take each day as if it is an open treasure chest waiting to be filled; find something new to discover, read up on a subject you've never read before. But then, you already know the internet is a cornucopia.
hugs, me
