Forever In Your Heart

0 posted 2008-01-02 12:46 PM

A few seconds ago,
my heart stopped beating,
the world collapsed,

Tears welled up,
filling my eyes,
my soul ripped,

A piece of me,
died, knowing,
of your passing.

I was In shock,
utter dismay,
hurt and pain,

with every beat,
of heart,
in my chest.

a beautiful person,
inside and out,
poet, friend,

Your music,
touched me,
so deeply,

Everyday I drive,
your songs play,
in my car.

"Longer" was one,
was a favorite,
as many of yours,

a soulful voice,
soft, tender,
magical,

music and lyrics,
from a man of nature,
felt in your words.

Never have I cried,
over someone famous,
you were different,

You were a part of me,
embedded in my soul,
like a brother,

Your songs gave me hope,
thoughts to write poetry,
you were one-of-a-kind.

a dying breed of songwriters,
and musicians that will never,
be again,

I wished I could have met you,
Mr. Dan Fogelberg,
we had so much in common.

Kindred souls,
I'll be "Missing You"
you ARE the best~

Now May you be playing with "The Leader Of The Band"

ARH, I think this is such a heartfelt soulful tribute. I'm sorry to say I don't know him, but you made me curious ... I'll look for a CD.

A man who brings joy to others has fulfilled his task, no doubt.

Love,
Margherita

ARH, Thank you that was beautiful. I was unaware of Dan's passing until I saw the title of your post..A sad day indeed as he was also one of my favorite singer/songwriters & a source of much inspiration.....

"Longer than there are stars up in the heaven, higher than any bird ever flew."

Dan was THE man, RIP.

Eff~yes I agree wholeheartedly, HE was the man...and I listen to his music to be inspired as well. Much of my poetry, love poetry was written while listening.

He will be missed...

Phil~thank you, I hope you still have some of the songs I recorded, his music was on the cds.

He is right up there with John Denver, Annies' song, you know the song "Longer" has a very special meaning to me.
