It's 2008?
Wait, wait.
Let's negotiate.
What do you mean
another year has passed?
This train is moving
way too fast.
Let's get something
very clear.
I'm not getting
any younger here!
Put on the brake,
throw it into reverse!
This is not a race.
Who wants to be first?
I may have to pull
the emergency switch
and run this thing
into a ditch
If I can't get off
this down hill slope.
What?
You say there's no hope.
That's why everyone
gets drunk
on New Year's Eve?
I give up.
Pass the bottle, please.
Oops, I forgot,
I don't drink
and it's useless to whine.
So I guess
I'll just stay in my seat
'Til the end of the line.

Dear Ida, what an enjoyable ride you have taken me on!

Wow, you said it so well, the feeling of time racing yes it's there in some moments more than in others.

But here we are, entrapped in the moment, the best thing we can do is flow with it ... while the skin wrinkles the soul flourishes ... isn't that a comforting thought?

Wonderful job!

Love and hugs.

Thank you , Margherita. I find the best way to handle aging is with humor.

I enjoyed this poem so much, Ida.  It's amazing -- I am learning how fast time does file.  My mother is assuring me that I don't know squat yet and tell me to just wait ... the ride gets faster.

Yippe!
