Divinity Implied

The Golden chalice sets afloat
What appears first as a cloud.
The hand of God, one might suppose,
But dare not speak aloud.

A soft white dove can’t help be drawn
Toward Divinity implied.
Deviant lure, outcome forgone
Affinity denied.

But still he drinks, the famished soul
Alone might blind the eyes.
To what replenishes this bowl
And what a taste here buys.

The drink spills out across the rim
To a destiny contrived,
But by what hand’s unsightly whim
Is eternity derived?

Now y'see? This is why I keep posting those things...I never know which one will spark an ember and cast some light and warmth. (And yeah, I read warmth in here, but I'm a little fond of "dark" as well.)

It's one of my favorite cards and now one of my favorite poems!

Thanks so much Michael...and yes, Happy New Year m'friend.
