The trees are cut down and a house is built.
The natural landscape is marred.
Here, there was once a green grassy field, --
And now, it’s somebody’s yard.

The clusters of pine trunks retreat, perplexed,
As someone flicks on the switch,
And birches wonder, “Who will be next?”
And shake with a nervous twitch.

Yes, Andrey, you speak of a world wide problem.  In my part of the world they seem to just fall over on their own.  No slow death or twitches.

Your voice is heard, it's high time to unite for the defence of Nature. May people realize that we depend on the trees to breathe.
Very good, significant write! Love the personification of the trees. Makes me shiver along with them.

Love,
Margherita
