At the Crossroads of Infinity

Has it really been twenty years
Since we last laughed and hid the tears?
Behind my smile you saw the lie
As I pretended not to cry

I acted brave but you acted tougher
Why is it always the good ones who suffer?
When the end came we weren't prepared
Ignoring the obvious because we were scared

By the time I realized
Your Spirit was being absorbed

You'd made that final journey beneath Orion's Sword
