singing solo

i want to hug you and hold you
as your words fall about me like petals
of a flower going into its second bloom

engrossed by the poetry of you
caressed by each picture you speak
each thought shared a puzzle piece fitting

tightly in the grip of my fingers

i want to pour you and sip you
like a fine merlot wetting the tip of my tongue
infusing me with creativity that you paint

stimulated by the touch of your images
captured by the wonders of your mind
a song carried to my nighttime windows

tapping a soft song on frosted glass
to let you in and warm chilled corners

This 'write' is simply superb!

I am particularly fond of the ending:

"stimulated by the touch of your images
captured by the wonders of your mind
a song carried to my nighttime windows

tapping a soft song on frosted glass
to let you in and warm chilled corners (!)"

very serious and long-sustained applause!
[a 'poetic standing ovation' for this penning!]
