Let it snow, she said
and gently shook the glass….

I watched then
as softness fell
in hush
quilting thoughts
and chilling searing aches
to a restrained burn

mountains tower, eternally stoic
a miserable reminder
of time and distance

~ still the sound
of breaking waves
and song of gulls
remain
undiminished in her heart

for now….for now
so be it…..

let it snow…

fine images (photo. and poetic)...
effective 'write!'...

I am particularly fond of:

"...the sound
of breaking waves
and song of gulls
remain
undiminished in her heart(!)"

serious applause!!

Yes, captivating write.
I just love how you've worded this,
and have enjoyed reading it so many times.
