I was pretty, like a love rose
petaled pink and curled above
my whistled budding tongue, I was
pretty
blushing pink.

I had blue eyes.
(I've still got them.)
I had dark darts
in centered spark
dashing
like a hi-de-ho,
pretty, like a love-red rose
opening like a mouth kiss.

Long brown hair
that hid my face
like a strong arm
no-not-like-this
"shot" of bad photographers
with fingers splayed
across the page
of some mysterious
"who's this?"
playfully captioned
"As IF"
printed
on the hopeful page.

I wore shoes of tortoise shell.
I wore my wax smiles from Tussaud.
I smelled of soap and cigarettes,
and pasted glitter on my eyes
in droplets
of the silhouette
before I smoothed my satins
lean
legged in those spider-webbed
stocking lives I wish I'd led.

I painted over my pale lips
with the darkest shade of red
growling at the camera
as if I might be turning true
pale and blue beneath the veil...

Exeunt: Was Just Like This
in a checkered cab! The Splash
across the page of urgency
bad bad girl publicity--
as if there ever were such things!
Snapping at my bathing suit
looking like I could get wet
fingers so suggestively
fingering what might be yet

I read several times of this one and did not leave a print. Now I want to say that this is a natural flow of your feelings. Not as you general ones with well calculated beats and zig-zag emotion.

I love this "little" tune that you must hummed out to yourself while, I shall say "naked")

Another dash to the dictionary for a new word: Exeunt. Loved the flow of this and its suggestive undertow. Been back to read several times already - feel as if I've missed something - will be back again later. Happy hogs
