I never silence the quiet
With how I talk or walk
Or space the evening
Between the piano lanes
Of the trains that cross.

I simply stare,
See the cattle of lights
That braze across from me,
Sitting alongside the wind
And thinking its just us,

Just us and silence,
Never apart to the deathly art
That lyes between me and my thoughts.

I stare and see what I see,
Believe what the wind speaks,
Yet the half of me runs
To another voice, another thought,

To another light that sees
A wind of another silence,
A deeper giant,
Stripping silence like
Candles sweating wax from fire.

But, like the nights drought,
I sit so still,
Silence forgets I’m here.
