 Once was there to share not quarrel Love returned, his way Acceptance from the teenaged years A mutual love gone astray Unfaithfulness, in past, his need Reversal of once held deep Today a minus of mathematical term Each in aloneness to sleep Who knows the misunderstandings best Or the level of deceit No matter, time has worn it smooth In crossing accepting defeat ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There in the future, beginnings could be Of differences resolved (if upright) Or maybe harmony or mutual trust Of another to share in the night If drawn in sympathy to the one now in need Lay it down, pick another, for I Would rather aloneness with memories old Be held in affection's imply It's all in the hands of each, you see Two cups half empty, half full Upright or reversed, could be love in the air A time-line from each end that has pull. well..I am even more moody than you, K...so I have to be in the proper mood to even want to do a challenge or even write or understand another's poem...and sometimes this eldwrly mind of mine just doesn't want to cooperate... v. well done 'write'! Excluding perhaps the 'rich and (in)famous', I believe that the majority of folks our age have lives which have veered into the 'tragic'... I have most certainly been 'rundown' by the (alleged) "American Dream" (and 'paved over' by the "information superhighway")...leaving destroyed lives and relationships (and 'emotional zombies' at best) in its wake! Applause for this penning! |
