dusk moon
sprouts wings and blue laughter
echoes solitary magenta
splinters universes in a tear drop
belies love legends
in stolen light
veiled lace and night shadow

fantasy left to startled flight
but for the brush of poetry
slipping through ardent fingers

songs of a brown bird
before dawn

Just one of those unobtrusive little wrens with a melody beneath its wings.

Thank you, Dale

Hi, Karen! So good to be reading your words again! You, and your poetry, have both been missed!

Your "brush of poetry" is still in fine working order, as is evident through the graceful writing of this wren song.

Loving hug,
Linda

Earth Angel, I've missed you, too.  Those little birds are quite tenacious.  We had a resident little brown bird on our porch beam one winter.  He came back the following winter for two or three nights.  I like to think he found a mate, because I didn't see him again.

I've been under the weather lately, so my poems have been a rare occurance.  Good to see you, Dear Heart!...and all my other favorites here, too.

This is lovely, as are you.

I wanted to thank you for your very thoughtful and touching reply to my own poem as well.

It made a difference for me, so hugs.

Thank you, Dixie.  I've missed being here, but only write sporadically these days, but I am always touched by your poems and look for you when I'm here!   ~Karen

Karen,

You make a difference, always!

Thank you for touching my spirit, too.  I love your reply.  Your gift of poetry pulls such emotive responses, alway real and moving.

May Christmas hold a gift of heart songs for you.     Karen

I thought I had replied to this when I read it the other day, and didn't realize until coming back to read it again that I hadn't.  Truly, I love this.  It's wrapped up perfectly.  Beautiful work here.
