hey, we all have our hard
luck thrillers but you listen here we've
paid for our costumes and we've practiced
this one for a lifetime & we told everyone
we were going to be there and... you're
not backing out on me this time
so don't even think about
it you hear me
listen

I

don't have
the time or energy for you or
any of this and I could care less if you
melt into a puddle of slime in the middle of
the floor you better just pick up your tears
and break into a somebody's singing in
the rain to long song or your
gonna be dirt you
hear

would

you stop that incessant taping
it's driving me up the wall sorry It's
just that I've always had this dream
of being a drummer and I guess
I get a little carried away
with things you

I was a 'lil kid and

do I look like your... thank

it
seems
like just a few
weeks ago that I last had
surgery and look at me here I am
for another go 'round are you scared
of course not I'm in shock nobody's
that brave 'cept John Wayne

and the last I
heard
he
wasn't
lookin' so well
and I remember crying

when they first told me and you
know I honestly don't think I ever
stopped 'til they shoveled a
hand full..... of pills
right down

whee..... led
me off to surgery I think

a
television aired a
soft forgotten faery tale some
thing 'bout a never ever land...... it must
have tucked itself right into my

'bout
where it was but
you know faery's are like that

but

afterwards I cried because I
thought the pain would never go
away but it did and it will again
you get through it you
move on

it could have been a

have missed the past few

If I didn't know better, I'd think that surgery was like being in love!  LOL... Sorry, my emotions have been a little traitorous lately and not too "patient".

I am delighted with your unique way of carrying me from one thought to next, as if I were in you head and the thoughts were mine...relate all too well.  ~ Karen

Mom's Surgery

we're all in mom's room
time written: February 1982
first two people: are my little brothers arguing.
third person: that's me "stop that incessant tapping"
mom cuts into conversation: wants her pillow fluffed
brothers; argue over who did it last
nurse arrives on scene: fixes mom's pillow
nurse & mom, small talk: are you scared..?
mom feels no pain: whee.....led off to surgery
a TV is airing a kids faerytale
mom's dissertation about tears and getting through it

there is actually quite a bit more of this day that I have written.
I think I'm starting to understand
thank you all...

Dear Dale....You have always been able to take your feelings and make them into words just as your mind tells you of them.  Pretty remarkable.  I remember surgery as not being as bad as the fear I had before it.  Hope all is well.

Martie,

This was mother's second surgery for a hysterectomy. I was still pretty young then and of course after she died was when I started understanding (should I say) the "eyesight/insights" of a mother...

thanks so much sis...
