She Is No Longer

She is no longer here … a vessel bound by frailty or earthly bonds;
     She wanders freely through dimensions I cannot see.

She is no longer here to listen to my voice expound on daily triumphs and woes;
     She is a part of my mind and knows my muted thoughts.

She is no longer here to touch, feel and comfort my being;
     She is the essence of my heart and warms me from within.

She is no longer here by my side to guide the way as we walk;
     She is the strength in each of my steps to support me.

She is no longer here awaiting my return;
     She is with me always.

She is no longer here;
     She is everywhere.

She is no longer;
     And yet ...
          She lives.

Dear Kit,
I could not read this beautiful poem without being deeply touched. I can relate.

There is sadness, yet accompanied by the comforting thought that she is still very much present.

Love,

Kit, I wish that I could have expressed myself as eloquently and with as much grace as you have done, when I have lost those that I have loved.

A remarkable piece of writing from your loving heart.

Giving you a warm, compassionate hug,

Linda

Kit, it seems that things have come full circle in so many ways.  I remember what brought you here, and what brings you here today yet again.  I also remember seeing the bond you shared with Lacey.  That bond will never go away, it just now takes on another form. She is no longer an earthly form, but as you know, you will see her in almost every corner forever.  She was a dear dog and served you well m'friend, and I bet she is having a ball with Misty as I type this.

I wrote this way back when, and it applies to you and Lacey, she's still around trust me, if you want her to be.

You are there ~ here with me,
Dust to dust ~ but still I see.
Breath of wind ~ upon my face,
Inhaling memories ~ simple grace.

You are there ~ here with me,
Willow whispers ~ spirits free.
Reminiscence ~ gentle smile,
Warmth of heart ~ for a while.

You are there ~ here with me,
Pirouetting leaf ~ flying free.
Dancing round ~ morning’s dawn,
Celestial sign ~ you’re not gone.

You are there ~ here with me,
Half a whole ~ I’ll always be.
Through destiny ~ we’ll embrace,
Two friends held ~ in his grace.

You are there ~ here with me,
Two hearts entwined ~ forever WE.

Dear Kit,
I am so sorry for your loss. It is amazing to me the love that seeps into our lives and is so strongly revealed in times of loss. This truly is an expression of loss that many of us can embrace in ways immensely personal. Proof it is very well done. Thank you.

I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to read this piece. I think the first poem I was able to write for my other gal, Misty, started with Free Verse, and the rhymes followed sometime after.  It just takes a while to get past the “raw” stage of missing her. She was a wonderful companion, and she is missed dearly.

Margherita:  She does feel very much present at times, and that’s a comfort Margherita. Much appreciated.

Earth Angel:  Thanks so much for your warm {{{hug}}} and lovely words Linda.

Mysteria:  Thank you Sharon, both for the poem and the loving thoughts, and for listening on the phone and through e-mails. {{{hug}}}

TomMark:  Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed, TomMark, much appreciated.

Marchmadness:  Thank you Ida, for your kind words.

JamesMichael:  I appreciated the {{{hug}}} James … thank you.

Larry C:  I’m glad the poem came across in this way, Larry … thank you for your beautiful comment, it means a lot to me.

serenity blaze:   Merry Christmas to you too Karen … and yes, healing is slow, but it’s slowly coming. Hugs to you.

Just another Pete:  Thanks for the positive thoughts Pete, much appreciated.

Artic Wind:  I like to think that miracles happen beyond this world.  Thanks Artic Wind.

Ceinwyn:  Thanks so much for your understanding Ceinwyn, very much appreciated.

Roniece Dawson-Bruce:  I’m glad you enjoyed, Roniece … thanks for the lovely comment.

Best wishes and much appreciation to all,
/Kit

Even though you don't know me, please accept my sobs and understanding for the loss of your darling dog.  My beloved horse, Flicka, whose earth mother I was for 20½ years went to Heaven 5½ years at the wonderful age of 37½.  He is with me every moment of every day.  Your poem is so true, but I know how difficult it is to cope with the loss.

Understanding Your friendship and love for your friend...

The Door To Love

The door to love, gone past it's prime
is not closed.
The memories alone should keep that love alive.
End it, before the embers die.

If you should need to leave, or say goodbye
Do not be distraught.
For I have harvested memories so grand,
That they alone will sustain me,

And leave me with smiles and sparkling eyes.
I would never be alone,
For I have memories to call upon.
A gift to me from you.

This was for my late husband, who had no choice but to leave me, for a dear woman friend living with cancer and for a brief love affair shared in between those times. It fits all I think.. best martyjo

OwlSA:  Thank you for understanding Owl ... I love the term "earth mother" that you used. I'm sorry for your loss as well. They become such a part of our lives, don't they?

latearrival:  That's a beautful poem, Martyjo ... a wonderful reminder that memories indeed, can sustain us through many trials. Much appreciated.

passing shadows:  It's good to see you again Dixie ... thanks for the kind words.

Best wishes and much appreciation to all,

A tender keeper, this.
She is not too far away
because you allow her
memory to romp through
the blue halls.

Kit...
I'm so sorry you lost your Lacey...

As you so beautifully expressed, though...

"She is the essence of my heart and warms me from within."

She will always be with you...
within you...

Something sparked a tender memory and I came back to read this piece. As I did, I read through all of your comments again ... I can't even express how much you poet people all mean to me. I may not be here as much as I used to, but I do hope time and circumstances will change that absense. I sure love you guys a lot.

Best wishes and many thanks to all,
/Kit

Kit...

this bounced back up because of those who love you so much.

Just a note to let you know that in April, our Abby joined your Lacey.

They explore and romp at their own free will, now...
