Words In My Pocket

With my back to the sun
and words in my pocket
nothing on the agenda
no names on the docket.

I don't need my shoes today
I want the sand between my toes
I want the ocean at my ankles
a heaven only an angel knows.

I'm not worrying about anything
won't fret over past mistakes
today, a day I will love myself
and stand unshaken in the wakes.

The whole world can fall down around me
the wolf can come knockin' at my door
I'll dance, with no thought to stance
I'll laugh, at being monetarily poor
I'm alive; that's worth rejoicing for.

With my back to the sun
and spirits high as a rocket
my road will be smooth today
enough to barefoot-walk-it
I'll set my heart out on my sleeve
and carry words in my pocket

so I can pull them out for you
to lay here on these pages blue.

I really liked this poem! it really shows how sometimes you just have to live life and enjoy it.  Be thankful for what you have and that you are alive today

Oh Dixix, Frame this and hang it where you will see it and read it every day as good reminder. This is my old Dixie, spirit, spunk, humor have all come back. You have it all. Please put it all to good use. I will be around for another ten years and I want to read you then. You Are Loved

I hope this is a very recent one and that this is exactly how you are feeling now.

Loved it.
