Crystal Rain

Burdened by heavy tears
Winter encases stoic limbs in ice
Making sculptures crystal, smooth and dice
All around, the tinkling of unrelenting thoughts
Frozen spirits chatter in the wind
Better this, that will recind
Elongating streams of redeeming dreams

When fortitude patters on the ground
Ponds of liquid glass make sound and sing
Hackneyed pours sub zero sting
In the gravity of cold

The undoing of every once done
Sparkling a biting muse before the sun
Come back, warm whiles
Chatter bright along too dormant smiles
Bring white to powder that endears
Unburdon branch of winter tears
Just dust upon the season that ice clears

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Your poem, in its entirety, is exquisite. However, a few descriptive lines stood out for me ~

"Crystal Rain"

"Frozen spirits chatter in the wind"

"Ponds of liquid glass make sound and sing"

Georgia is in a serious drought also, which will affect Florida and Alabama too...Lake Lanier here is just dry as a bone. I believe they said it was 18 feet below normal.

Here it was 79 degrees today. Strange indeed.

Lovely poem and I didn't mean to get away from that but I'd read Barry's reply and had to add my 2 cents in

wonderful work TD, as always! I enjoyed!
