Screams are ringing in your ears
Must be the wind
There’s nothing here
He’s so alone

Lying on the bathroom floor
Blade in her hand
Couldn’t offer more
She’s so alone

She’s the girl next door
He’s in the next dorm
But you did nothing wrong
It’s your job to ignore
It can’t be your fault

Choking with the chair knocked down
Eyes burning
Start to lose the sound
He’s on his own

It isn’t happening at all
Too stoned to hear
It’s not your fault
She’s on her own

The water is too cold
But maybe you’re just too old
To care anymore
But don’t worry
It’s not your fault
Cause you chose to ignore

She’s the girl walking by
He’s the man who always cries
But you did nothing wrong
It’s your job to ignore
It can’t be your fault
Because you did nothing at all

Such bitter truths.  This moved me, and renewed my hope, that I will never turn my eyes away from someone in pain.

How is it that after your heart is ripped out, you feel so much?
