I am from the mismatch of personalities
with hands and minds that moulded
a sense of worthlessness
and shipped resultant efforts
into the rest of my life.

But too I’m from the bulkhead
of spiritual avowals
tall and solid, undefiled
determined to survive
and paint a different portrait
from the inside looking out.

It hangs today silently
in the know of life’s demands
staring into landscapes
not compliant with a mind
that wanders into memory
of two alike entwined.

I am now from every step and stair,
every incline, downhill run,
every twist and turn,
every corner, bend, and curve
that makes history repeat with me
a personality mismatch!

You are indeed, and a very congenial and talented artist and poet as well...

I keep and will have to keep coming back to reread this one, sometimes I think I know what it's saying then something else pops up.
Thanks for an absorbing and thought provoking read.

Helen, and a beautiful mismatched personality you have! One which enables you to be very versatile in your writing which in turn makes your poetry fascinating to read!

I am so pleased that you offered this peek into where you have come from.

Loving hug,

Thank you all so much.  I sure have missed Pip this last little while but should be back to catch up as best I can in a week or so.

Thanks again,
Helen

I agree with Pete.

I have read several times, leaving to return to your poem again.

I am now from every step and stair,
every incline, downhill run,
every twist and turn,
every corner, bend, and curve
that makes history repeat with me
a personality mismatch!

I think this is so fine.  So fine.

Thank you so much, Alison.  I guess soon enough the "straight" (flat-line, you know) and then perhaps the twists and turns etc. will be of little consequence.

I, too, have read this piece several times this morning and now this afternoon.  It is a wonderfully strong piece of writing.

Thank you so much, dear poet.

What a wonderful mixture to stir here.
Loved the prior verses...unique, relentless...

This is sooooo deep, dear Helen, so touching that it almost hurts.

Wonderfully rendered roots.

Helen, you know there are reasons for everything and if mismatch is behind where you are from, it is taking you to a beautiful tomorrow.  I enjoyed this one, especially, my friend.  (BTW, I spent some time on your website the other day -- it looks great and reads even better!)    *hugs*......jo

Thank you all so much.  I certainly appreciate all your comments and thanks, Jo, for visiting dreamtime.  Oh, watch out for realtime - I'm thinking that will read somewhat differently but who needs it, right?

Hi Helen...."Personality mismatch"  Perhaps it is the difference that gives birth to seeing beyond the ordinary. I enjoyed your beautiful website too...and a book!!  Good for you!
