The cold
makes me brittle
and I take chances
that might break me.

But really
what is life
without some broken parts
because broken parts make noise
and I want you to hear me coming

so you can run if you're scared

LOL, did you know, as those bones get older, they also grow bolder?
It's good you are not afraid to shake your personal rattle.
Welcome home, Dixiegal.

Dixie! You're back! Welcome home! You've been missed. I hope your shadows have passed!

Perhaps some Glucosamine with Chondroitin would lubricate those bones of yours. Mind you, your funny bone doesn't seem to need it!

Your post just brought back an incident that happened when I was in nursing school and living in residence. Late one night there was a scratching sound at my bedroom door. As I opened it, a real skeleton hanging from a rack on casters, came clanging towards me! A nursing student prank that scared the b'jeepers out of me! I was back pedalling with my arms just a twirling ~ but it kept coming toward me until I hit the back wall. My room was dark (as was the residence hallway) and I couldn't see the perpetrator. Gosh, I darn near died of fright. Then she started to laugh her head off ~ which wasn't really necessary. I would have gladly removed her head for her! lol

Believe me I got her back good! I later hid in her closet and as she got all snugly in bed, I jumped out and darn near caused HER to die of fright! btw This was the oldest, spookiest residence that you could imagine ~ AND it was haunted by a student nurse who had hung herself there. Jeepers creepers. I've got goosebumples running up and down my arms just thinking about it ~ and I lived in that residence for years!

Sorry for the digression! Once I get going... lol

Giving you a big, warm, welcome back hug,

Linda

because broken parts make noise
and I want you to hear me coming(!)"

Dix, I enjoyed the bravada and the brevity of this one, and I am pleased to see you back among the blue pages again.

Dear Dixie, this poem is impressive! You know that broken bones, when they heal, they are stronger than before! And they are bound to heal, it's nature's gift.

I am so happy you are back!

I enjoyed Eearth Angel's "bony" tale too!

Love and big hugs.

Dixie...You have brought many smiles to alot of us here at passions with your return to writting. Hopefully all is getting better with you. I hope you are with us for a long time.
Speaking about those "Broken Parts", I hav a few myself, so maybe we both just need a good overhaul...Paul
