Deep in the heart

0 posted 2007-12-05 08:14 AM

aspiring poet
poor writer of senryus
tankas and haikus

add occasional
free verse, toss in a sonnet
overlook errors
you will see a speck of me
but nothing of who I am

you see, I don’t share
with just anyone, you see,
who the real me is

oh, sure, God knows me
after all is said and done
He’s the real I am

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Excellent!

Coy to the end...

Well done, Sir.

But I would have to disagree with one little statement within your verse.

And you know which one!

"aspiring poet" ~ I think you are well past the "aspiring" part!

~ and you are a Doctor of Love! ~ and Love makes the world go 'round and that puts a Big Smiley Face on the 'I Am'!

Ah yes...

....and they shall say unto me, what is his name? what
shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM
THAT I AM... The immensity of "I AM" knows no boundary.

To say "i am" has little meaning.

and you are part of Him! Wow, our concluding lines convey the same truth, I see.

Enjoyed your poem, but I disagree too like our friends above when you say you are an "aspiring" poet ... you ARE a poet and that's it.

Oh but you show yourself in poetry much more fully than you realize.

"He's the real I am" - that's for sure!

I've been gone so long, I don't know your work.  However, I have a hunch you are being too modest.

I love to write haiku's, they are very fun, and to talk about nature, I love it!

Nicely put
