I Am What I Am
by Linda L. Dowd

I am the whisper in swaying, white willows,
I am the whistle of distant, night train.
I am the rustle in shimmering poplars,
I am the mist in a gentle, spring rain.

I breathe in the colors of misty-hued rainbows,
I breathe in the joy of children at play.
I breathe in the love of mother with baby,
I breathe in the silence at close of each day.

I stand on high mountains and witness the splendor,
I swim across seas that are without end.
I fly through the cosmos with bright stars to guide me,
I see dawning light that awaits around bend.

~ * ~

I am a small speck of The All of Creation,
I am the sapling that grows in to oak tree.
I am but an atom in God’s Infinitum,
I am what I am ~ and forever shall BE.

“We are borne of star dust,
and to the stars we shall one day return.”
~ Linda L. Dowd

Reminds me a bit of the idea behind Krishna's explanation of his divinity in the Bhagavad Gita.  I like it a lot!  Well done.

Marchmadness ~

Ida that was sweet of you to say. After completing the writing of this poem, I hoped that readers would get past the first paragraph and see where I was going with this poem. ~ Otherwise, they'd think that I've got an inflated view of myself! lol

Love to you, Being of Delightful Madness!

Lovely Lilacs ~

Not only was Patricia's engaging challenge and poem, "Lesson of the Day", a source of inspiration for this write ~ your touching poetic response to her challenge, was as well!

Loved the warmth of your comments. You say such sweet things! ~ But of course, they are in keeping with the 'kind' of person you are!

I am so happy that you have returned to the pip family fold!

Love you!

You are a beautiful woman and this poem is wonderful.

You know, I am learning from your poetry
and from your responses -
I am learning how to be a bit gentler myself.

I have come to admire you a great deal.

I like this.
This poem actually goes really well with your signature quote at the bottom as well.

Not sure what Patricia’s challenge was exactly, but I think you won....lol
