Birthday Presence

What is in a missive
of personal intent
to someone you don’t truly know?

This, a one-sided relationship of awe.

The same can be said
for a birthday wish,
one would imagine – a sentiment
sent out into the universe
where invisible eyes might peruse
the pleasure of the fact
that you were born
one hundred thirty two years ago
this day.

You came into my sphere of mind
and thought
a few years ago,
following a gentle word from man
that somehow my words
seemed like yours.

“Remarkable,” I reflected.

I line up our similarities ~
I don’t know all of our distinct differences;

~ we share a birth month
~ the same sign
~ ethnicity
~ sensitivities
~ a pondering mood
~ a propensity to have our soul’s words
     see into some distant future
                      to be read,
                                  to be known,
                                              to be felt, again.

I thought you were talking about Santa Claus ... almost. The main similarity therein are your continual gifts. Thank God you don't just favor us with them once a year!

Wonderful, my friend. My grand daughter, Ryleigh, and I share a recent birthday...yesterday matter of fact,and a week before that, my new grandson was born...I so hoped he'd share Ryleigh and I's, and, bless his heart...he tried - at least he joined us as Sagittarians...so we're gonna have a heck of a time together!!
