Though naked to self, a coat I did wear
That sheltered my feelings and words I would share
It held back my demons and true thoughts of love
It harbored my secrets and prayers to above

There were tears that were blotted and feelings suppressed
This coat it would carry and shelter my best
It would hold back my feelings to save me from shame
Gave me a mentor and thing I could blame

This coat of emotions had pockets galore
That filled and were emptied each time I had more
There were notebooks and memories and poems I would write
Sights I should pencil and haunts I should fight

Beneath I was naked, in judgment of self
An innocent person that lived but in stealth
For all of the words that my coat hid each day
Were written, then coded, then all filed away

My coat became tainted and lived more than I
The Hyde and the Jekyll as more years went by
But worn were some corners and thread’s become bare
And words I was thinking found freedom from there

And as I found freedom, the threads did undo
My naked and true self began to come through
The years brought a cure and strength of expose
A time of consider and then smell the rose

My coat of emotions was made to protect
But weakened my voices and led to neglect
Until I matured and found I could speak
Undress and be naked and truths only seek

So here I am naked from outcome of years
Have lived through the traumas and faced all my fears
Now happy to share all my thoughts and my song
For that is what happens as years pass along

I left my cocoon and beauty did see
For once and forever my soul it was free
Released from my prison, my wings took to flight
To fly to life’s beauty and places so right

and places so right, yes!... and isn't it a wonderful feeling?! Thanks to God we have emotions and thanks to Him again we can LIVE them, in perfect harmony with His idea of how our life should be lived.

Dear Rick, I am happy for you that the evolution/discovery of your higher self brought you to these wise insights.

I love this poem!

Love,

Yes, I would agree that we should be thankful for the emotions We are given

Good way to explain feelings

Rick, you look mighty splendiferous as you stand there before all of your fellow pipsters in your glorious nakedness!

It took years, but I eventually was able to shed my hair coat of negative emotions ~ and now I too, stand naked before pip!

Hey, I have an idea! Why don't you and I plan a hip pip party! ~ No clothes allowed!  ~ Just smiles ~ and our inner beauty!

Rick, this is another keeper of a poem for me from your soul pen!

Dear Margherita, how wonderful to have you visit today my friend, so many emotions I carry each day, giving tears and smiles, appeal and disbelief; love and pure contentment. Each day I share my smile and watch it spread during the day, a fantastic feeling. You have a great day my friend, thank you so much for your reply, very much heart felt and appreciated.

Artic Wind, thank you so much for your reply my friend, you are right, we should all be thankful for our emotions, it puts the word onto the page, love into the heart and feelings into all we share. Have a wonderful day and take care.

Dear Linda my friend, what a wonderful response you have given me here, our glorious nakedness, they'd all like to see that hey, it is hard to shed the coat and truly express truth, but when it is done once, the feelings are so strong and right that it happens time and time again, I am so often naked and exposed to the world, it is the true me and I am not ashamed at all. A hip pip party, what a wonderful idea you have Linda, No clothes allowed!  ~ Just smiles ~ and our inner beauty! Will have to be careful, might be pictures coming from that. Thank you for sharing your beauty and also you soul pen dear Linda, it was greatly appreciated and heart felt, see you at the party.
